Coconut Chutney

Traditional coconut chutney with a delicious and healthy twist! Authentically, coconut chutney is finished with a tempering but I have given a healthy twist to this recipe by omitting the tempering and adding mint leaves that impart a refreshing flavour to the chutney in addition to a soothing green tinge.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup roughly chopped fresh coconut
  2. 2 tablespoons yogurt
  3. 2 roughly chopped green chillies
  4. 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
  5. 8-10 mint leaves
  6. 5-6 curry leaves
  7. Salt to taste

Method

  1. Put the coconut, yogurt, green chillies, ginger, mint leaves, curry leaves and salt in a grinder and grind till it becomes a smooth paste.
  2. Take the chutney out in a bowl and use as required.
