Mung Sprouts Bhel

Sprouts Bhel is the most delicious way of eating the protein-packed sprouts. Tangy, spicy and flavoursome; it’s definitely going to create a burst of flavours and textures in your mouth!

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup moong sprouts or any sprouts of your choice
  2. 1/2 cup puffed rice (murmara)
  3. 2 tablespoons sev
  4. 1 tablespoon fine sev (nylon sev) for garnishing
  5. 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
  6. 2 tablespoons finely chopped tomatoes
  7. 2 tablespoons finely chopped potatoes (boiled & peeled)
  8. 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chillies or to taste
  9. 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves
  10. 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  11. 2 tablespoons lemon juice or to taste
  12. Salt to taste

Method

  1. Add the sprouts in a pressure cooker along with 1/2 cup of water and salt. Pressure cook on high heat for 2 whistles. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 2 minutes. Let the steam escape before opening the lid of pressure cooker. Let the sprouts cool to room temperature.
  2. Combine all the ingredients except fine sev in a deep bowl and mix well.
  3. Serve immediately garnished with fine sev.
