Potato & Peas Sandwich

Wholewheat slices of bread stuffed with delicious filling of boiled potaoes and peas. Simple yet delectable sandwich that can be prepared very quickly for breakfast or teatime snack!

  1. Ingredients for stuffing:
  2. 1 cup potatoes (boiled, peeled and mashed)
  3. 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
  4. 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves
  5. 2 tablespoon boiled peas
  6. 1 teaspoon freshly ground ginger
  7. 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chillies
  8. 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Other ingredients:
  11. 6 slices bread
  12. 2 teaspoons butter


  1. Combine all the ingredients for stuffing in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Place 3 slices of bread in a dish and spread the prepared potato stuffing generously on each slice with the help of a spoon. Cover each of them with a bread slice. You will get 3 sandwiches stuffed with potato filling.
  3. Apply little butter on the outer sides of the sandwiches and keep aside.
  4. Heat a flat non-stick pan. Place a sandwich on it and toast it till light brown and crispy from both sides.
  5. Repeat the same process for the remaining 2 sandwiches.
  6. Cut each sandwich diagonally into 2 triangular sandwiches.
  7. Serve hot with green chutney and masala chai.
