Ingredients

  1. Ingredients for Topping:
  2. 4 tablespoons semolina (Suji)
  3. 1 tablespoon thick yogurt
  4. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  5. 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  6. 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  7. 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves
  8. 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Other Ingredients:
  11. 4 bread slices
  12. 2 tablespoons oil

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients for the topping in a bowl and mix well. Keep aside.
  2. Place the slices of bread in a dish and spread the prepared topping generously on each slice with the help of a spoon.
  3. Heat a flat non-stick pan and brush little oil in it. Place 1-2 bread slices (depending upon the size of your pan) on it with the semolina-topping side facing upwards. Cover the pan and toast for about 30 seconds or till the base turns light brown and crispy.
  4. Drizzle some oil on top of the bread slices and flip them over carefully with the help of a spatula. Cook on low heat for about a minute or till nicely cooked and crispy from the other side as well.
  5. Repeat the same process for the remaining bread slices.
  6. Cut each toast into half and serve hot with tomato ketchup and tea.
