Sweet Vermicelli

Ready in less than 10 minutes, easy to prepare and  finger licking good dish that makes an awesome dessert, breakfast or a snack.

  1. 1 cup vermicelli
  2. 1 teaspoon ghee
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  5. 1 tablespoon sliced almonds
  6. 1 tablespoon chopped cashew nuts
  7. 1 tablespoon raisins
  8. 1 tablespoon tutti-frutti (for garnishing)


  1. Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker, add vermicelli and sauté on low heat for about a minute or till it turns light brown in colour and releases a nice aroma.
  2. Add the almonds, cashew nuts and raisins (save some for garnishing). Sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add sugar and 11/2 cups of water. Mix well.
  4. Pressure cook on high heat for one whistle. After 1 whistle, reduce the heat to low and cook for 5 minutes. Let the steam escape before opening the lid of pressure cooker.
  5. Serve warm garnished with nuts & tutti-frutti.
