Chocolate Truffles

Rich and indulgent handmade chocolate balls that can grace any occasion and bring a smile on everyone’s face. Insanely easy yet delicious, these chocolate truffles are a perfect sweet treat for Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

  1. 100g milk chocolate, roughly chopped
  2. 100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa), roughly chopped
  3. 4 tablespoons icing sugar or powdered sugar
  4. 1/2 cup double cream
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  6. Ingredients for rolling the truffles:
  7. 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  8. 1/4 teaspoon edible gold glitter
  9. 1/4 teaspoon edible silver glitter
  10. 1 tablespoon finely chopped pistachios
  11. 1 tablespoon cake decoration balls -red

Method

  1. Place the chopped dark & milk chocolate in a large bowl & keep aside.
  2. Take the cream in a microwavable bowl and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute stirring it once after 30 seconds.
  3. Pour the cream over the chocolate. Add vanilla essence and stir well until smooth. Microwave the mixture for another 10-20 seconds if some of the chocolate pieces are left behind after stirring.
  4. The truffle mixture is ready. Refrigerate it for 2-3 hours.
  5. Take cocoa powder in a plate and spread it on the plate.
  6. Scoop out almost equal portions of truffle mixture using a tablespoon and place them on the cocoa powder.
  7. Apply cocoa powder on your palms and quickly roll each portion into a ball.
  8. Coat some balls in chopped pistachio, some balls in red cake decoration and apply gold & silver glitter to some balls with the help of a brush. Coat the remaining balls in cocoa powder.
  9. Homemade chocolate truffles are ready. Keep refrigerated.

Recipe Tips:

  • You can roll the chocolate truffles in chocolate curls or sprinkles, coarsely ground almonds or any other topping of your choice.
  • While rolling out the truffle balls make sure you roll them pretty quickly as they start getting melted by the heat of our hands.
  • Please make sure, you use a good quality chocolate. The better the quality of chocolate, the better will be the taste of the truffles.
