  1. 2 teaspoons instant coffee powder
  2. 2 teaspoons + 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  3. 11/2 cup milk
  4. Sugar to taste

  1. Take a thick sheet of paper and cut it into square which is slightly bigger than the mouth of the mug. Fold this paper square into half and draw the outline of half of a heart. Cut along the outline. Unfold the paper square, you will get a paper heart stencil. Keep it aside to be used later. This step is optional; if you do not want to make this paper stencil, you can simply sprinkle some cocoa powder on top of your hot coffee once it is ready.
  2. Take 2 teaspoons coffee powder in a mug. Add 1/2 cup boiling water and stir well.
  3. Combine milk (cold), prepared black coffee, sugar and 2 teaspoons cocoa powder in a blender and blend for 2-3 minutes. DO NOT use HOT MILK, it can splash out of the blender and can be dangerous.
  4. Pour the blended coffee into coffee mugs and warm it up in the microwave for 90 seconds. Warm up the coffee in the microwave immediately after blending otherwise the froth will disappear.
  5. Place the prepared paper stencil (if using) on top of each coffee mug and sprinkle cocoa powder with the help of a small sieve.
  6. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes:

  • DO NOT use hot milk while blending the milk and black coffee as it might splash out of the blender and can be dangerous. The black coffee will be hot but when you add cold milk to it, it will be fine.
  • You can make any shape of your choice on the paper stencil. You can also involve the kids in making it.
  • Use a good quality coffee and cocoa powder, the taste of this hot beverage totally depends on the quality of coffee used to prepare it.
