Sunrise Mocktail

This drink gets its name from the visual effect of sunrise created by  a red layer at the bottom that slowly blends into an orange layer with a cherry floating on it. The red layer is made of rose syrup/grenadine and the orange layer consists of orange juice.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed)
  2. 2 tablespoons rose syrup or grenadine (use any one of them)
  3. 4-5 ice cubes
  4. 1 cherry
  5. 1 orange wedge for garnishing
  6. 1 mint sprig for garnishing

Method

  1. Pour orange juice in a glass.
  2. Slowly pour the rose syrup into the glass so that it sinks to the bottom. Use the back of a spoon to pour the rose syrup slowly into the juice so that it doesn't get mixed with the juice.
  3. Add the ice cubes. Finally drop a cherry into the drink; it will float on top of the drink.
  4. Sunrise Mocktail is ready. Garnish with an orange wedge and a mint sprig. Serve immediately.
