Chilli Paneer (Non-Fried)

Healthy version of Indo-Chinese dish prepared by cutting paneer into bite-sized pieces and tossed with vegetables, chillies and sauces.

Ingredients

  1. 200g paneer cut into thick strips
  2. 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  3. 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  4. 2 onions, sliced
  5. 3-4 green chillies (or to taste), cut lengthwise
  6. 1 small red pepper/capsicum, sliced
  7. 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  8. 2 tablespoons chilli sauce
  9. 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  10. 2 tablespoons oil
  11. 1/2 teaspoon chinese salt/MSG
  12. Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large non-stick pan and add the garlic & ginger paste. Sauté on medium heat for 1-2 minutes or till it turns golden brown in colour.
  2. Add the onions, red pepper/capsicum and green chillies. Sauté for about 30 seconds. There is no need to brown the onions and the vegetables.
  3. Add the paneer, salt, chinese salt, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce and soya sauce. Mix well and saute for about 30 seconds.
  4. Serve hot.
