Chaat Toast

Chaat Toast is perfect for satisfying your chaat cravings without feeling guilty of using the fried papdi. Try it once and you will fall in love with it!

  1. 4 bread slices
  2. 2 boiled potatoes, peeled and mashed
  3. 2 tablespoons boiled chana (chickpeas)
  4. 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
  5. 1 tablespoon nylon sev (fine sev)
  6. 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney
  7. 2 tablespoons green chutney
  8. 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  9. 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder (optional)
  10. Salt to taste


  1. Toast the bread slices in an electric toaster or a flat pan till golden brown and crispy.
  2. Combine the mashed potatoes, boiled chickpeas, 1 tablespoon green chutney, 1 tablespoon chopped onions, chaat masala and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Spread the potato mixture generously on one side of the toasted bread slices.
  4. Cut each toasted bread slice into 4 triangular pieces.
  5. Arrange them in a dish with potato mixture side facing upwards.
  6. Drizzle some green chutney and tamarind chutney on each toast.
  7. Sprinkle some chopped onions. Finish with a topping of nylon sev.
  8. Serve immediately.
